i love this….we have a neighbor who has 5 chairs on her front lawn……it always looks so friendly…as if everyone had just left the get-together, or are arriving shortly. i love passing this scene everyday.
I love the slightly mismatched distressed chairs in the last photo…great post! Kim
I love that I recognize some of these!! (I live in L.A., too!) so peaceful just to look at, let alone sit in!
Carol – you DO? In tiny little Los Altos? How amazing! I’ve lived here my entire life (well, not exactly my entire life but for the past 35 years at least!). Are you new to the area or have you lived here long?
Wonderful…I love chairs in pairs…
What’s wrong with one chair and a cooler full of beer?
Matt – nothing at all! But better yet, make it 2 chairs with a cooler of beer! More fun that way!
I don’t know Rebecca, your post seems a little “anti-family” to me. All the chairs are in pairs! What if you have a kid, or a friend or your mother-in-law comes to visit?
Oh wait, never mind.
Yes, Susan…I see you’re getting it. The beauty of ‘two’!
garden + two chair + table + sunny day + nice company = perfect day
= agreed, Sarah!
I have always loved the look of two adirondack chairs positioned toward some far off wonder. There is a pair in the next town over pointed at a ridge, and I always find myself wondering what the couple who left them was chatting about while enjoying the view. Ah L’amour…
LOVELY! The morning glory blue ones make my heart race.
Happy day!

Thanks Sharon and Sarah! I’m glad you both enjoyed the photos (my favorite is the blue ones also – they’re from my favorite garden of all time belonging to the amazing Napa designers Freeland and Sabrina Tanner)
Sit down? Don’t mind if I do!
