Goodbye Pool, Hello Garden
Los Altos, California
At one time, the pool was the center of activity for this active family and their three children. But once the kids were grown, the pool sat unused for most of the year. Taking up valuable space, not to mention the constant upkeep and resources needed to maintain the pool, the decision was made to remove it.
In its place we created a multi-purpose garden complete with a separate fenced area for vegetables, stacked stone raised beds for cutting flowers and herbs, a focal-point fountain (from Eye of the Day), and a new Connecticut Bluestone patio for entertaining (including two Galanter & Jones heated chairs).
One year later, and the pool isn’t missed at all!
