A HILLTOP GARDEN THAT EMBRACES WILDLIFE
Perched high on the top of a hill, with the lush Santa Cruz Mountains as its neighbors, this garden has no fencing whatsoever. Completely open to deer, rabbits and the occasional mountain lion this 1-acre garden was designed to embrace all wildlife.
An additional challenge was the complete lack of shade in the summer, when temperatures can soar into the triple digits. The plants chosen are a hardy blend of both Mediterranean and California natives, all of which rely on very little supplemental water.
